Hahu Ethiopia Tours draws its inspiration from the Ethiopian alphabet, one of the world’s oldest and most culturally significant writing systems. Named after the letters Ha (ሀ) and Hu (ሁ) from the Ge’ez script, our name embodies Ethiopia’s rich linguistic heritage and vibrant traditions.

My journey to establishing Hahu Ethiopia Tours began with an unexpected encounter in my youth. At 14, while tending my herd in the Ethiopian countryside, a group of travelers accompanied by an English-speaking guide passed through my village. Their visit marked a turning point in my life. Touched by my situation, they offered me a simple gift—a T-shirt—but more importantly, they inspired me with hope and encouraged me to pursue my education.

This act of kindness sparked a journey of learning and discovery. While continuing my studies, I enrolled at the Alliance Éthio-Française in Addis Ababa, where I learned French and honed my English skills. Over time, my passion for languages and my deep appreciation for Ethiopia’s cultural wealth led me to a career as a professional tour guide. I had the privilege of working with travelers from around the world and collaborating with renowned travel agencies.

Today, Hahu Éthiopie Tours represents the culmination of a dream matured over more than ten years of experience. This project is much more than a business: it’s the fruit of a personal story, unshakeable determination and a deep love for Ethiopia, a land of diversity and wonders. Now a self-employed professional guide with Hahu Ethiopia tour, my wish is to share this wealth with every traveler, offering them authentic and memorable experiences.
